HISTORY OF ESTABLISHMENT

The Public Health Master’s Program (S2 MKM) at the Faculty of Medicine (now the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing/FKKMK) at Gadjah Mada University has been ongoing since 1982. Initially offering a single concentration (Master of Public Health), the program has since expanded to include 13 concentrations. In 2020, four of these concentrations under the Department of Health Policy and Management formed their own study program. The management of the Public Health Master’s Program (S2 MKM) has also evolved, starting under the UGM Graduate School and transitioning to a monodisciplinary graduate program under FKKMK UGM in 2006. The program has shown significant progress in both academic and educational quality, as evidenced by its “Unggul” accreditation, awarded by the National Accreditation Board in 2000, 2005, 2013, and 2018.

The Public Health Master’s Program (S2 MKM) at UGM has 9 main concentrations grouped into two scientific clusters as follows:
